Last night while on patrol I conducted a traffic stop for a moving violation. After contacting the African-American female driver and conducting a record check I decided to ask for consent to search her car based on her (numerous) prior drug convictions.
During the search, I find 40 boxes of pseudoephedrine hidden underneath the spare tire in the trunk. Based off of her prior meth related arrest, I suspect she is providing pills to a dealer. With strict laws in Missouri, the trafficking of pills is referred to as “smurfing”.
I place this lady under arrest, transport her to the precinct, and conduct a interview. During that interview, from the very beginning, she was pretty pissed. After beating around the bush for two hours, I finally say to her, “if your smurfing these pills for someone”…
Before I could continue with the rest of my sentence she gets pissed to a whole new level, slams her hands on the table, and says…
“SMURFFING? DO I LOOK LIKE A SMURF? SMURFS ARE BLUE. I’M BLACK. I WANT A LAWYER”.
Nowadays, there is a need to search for important information daily by reading various books, magazines or newspapers. The same thing can be done using Google search and this is why Google has become the central and an indispensable part of our life. Now, for more effective and efficient search on Google we also need to know some basic tricks and techniques, so that the required information could be easily searched.
School, work, research, looking for movies, news, celebrities, gossip and social networking are some of the important and daily search terms and the information related to these topics could be got from Google search. Mentioned below are some of the important tricks that you can use for making it more advanced and effective in order to meet all your search requirements.
On Google search bar, instead of typing the simple phrase related to your search, if you type in the ways stated below, you would be getting more appropriate results according to your needs. First of all, the need is to understand the facts how to search effectively. Follow these instructions for making effective Google search.
1. Either / or search: there is an operator named ‘or’ and the symbol is ‘|’ by using which your search result would be related to the keywords of either of the side of the ‘or’ operator.
2. Quoted search: quoted search means you just put the double quotation mark on both side of the search keyword on Google. In this way you would be getting the exact matching phrase results on Google search.
3. Negation (Not) searches: by using the not operator having symbol ‘-’ you would be getting the results that would not contain the information related to the word in front of which the operator is used.
4. Similar term search: by using the tilt (~) operator you can search for the similar search on Google. For example if you search like ~dumb little man –dumb then the results would be for dumb little man, funny little man etc.
5. Wildcard / specific domain search: by using the asterisk (*) operator in between your search you can get the desired results for the forgotten keywords. You can also search for specific domain by using the asterisk operator. Use research *. (Domain name) for specific domain search results.
6. Advanced search: by going on Google’s advanced search page you can type the specified search information like words, phrase to be included or not and region and languages etc. for advance Google search.
7. Definition, specific site, movie or music search: type define: before your search for definition of the keyword. Type site: before your search for specific site search. Type music: and movie: for getting the results with the specified music or movie of your choice.
8. Use of Google calculator: if you simply want to have addition, subtraction, multiplication or division then use brackets to provide the safe equation on Google search bar and press enter to get the result.

There are lots of reasons to use Facebook for marketing your business. However, you should not prioritize the social networking site over your own website. This is for the obvious reason that Facebook is not your own site. There are three good reasons why you should pay more attention to your business website than to Facebook.
1. Control
There is always a risk involved in relying on a third party site as your primary marketing source. This is because you have no control whatsoever over that source. It is true that you choose what to put onto your Facebook page, but you could lose out if Facebook decides to change its policies for displaying content (as it did recently, when it introduced time lines and starting promoting particular posts).
You are also exposed to the possibility that Facebook’s server might crash, that it might be purchased by another company (leading to another change in policy), or that it simply ceases to exist. You may think that these eventualities are unlikely, but they are possible, and you would get very little notice if they did happen. You could be left overnight with no online marketing, and you would need to rethink your strategy in a hurry. The lesson is: Facebook is not your business website, so do not treat it as such.
2. There is no search benefit
It is not really possible to have a SEO strategy with Facebook. As an example, if your customers are searching for a term such as “kids’ clothes”, there is not much you can do to ensure your Facebook page ranks more highly than those of your competitors. You need to remember that Google does not index your wall posts, so including keywords in those posts will not enable you to appear higher in Google’s rankings than your competitors. The most that you can hope to achieve is to get a Google ranking for your brand name. Remember that Facebook is working for its own benefit, and not yours, and its ranking policy is determined accordingly. The lesson is: Facebook is not your business website, so do not treat it as such.
3. There may be restrictions
You may still be of the opinion that it is a good idea to use Facebook as your main online marketing site. However, you need to think about the content you want to display. Facebook has terms of use for its business pages, and these may not necessarily accord with the objectives of your business. Remember, too, that Facebook administrators can decide at any time that your page violates those terms of use, and shut down your page. If this happens, you will lose all of your marketing efforts.
Your online fans are also regulated by the Facebook terms of use. This means that your relationship with them is governed by Facebook, and not by you, and you have no control over that relationship. You need to decide for yourself how this affects your company, and its ability to grow customer relationships. The lesson is: Facebook is not your business website, so do not treat it as such.
Best Way to Use Facebook
Despite these drawbacks, there are still clear benefits to using Facebook. It can have an effective role in your marketing strategy, so long as you have already focused upon building a strong online presence in the form of a company website that you have full control over. This website must not be an added extra: it is what your customers expect to find when they are looking for a company in your business area. They will want a site that shows quality products, as well as content that takes their needs into account. A well designed Facebook page should supplement, not replace, this.
Use Facebook as a way of driving more traffic to your site, and of building brand awareness. Make use of photo albums and the cover image to display your logo and branding, and build in fun and entertaining content to attract people’s attention. Make sure you include links back to your company website.
There are a few extra tips you need to follow
• Your Facebook page should not focus solely upon your company. Try to post two or three times a day, including relevant material about the industry as a whole to make it interesting to your followers. Use feedback from your fans to improve your content.
• Do not put links to your website in every post. You are using Facebook to interact with your customers, and you need to build up a rapport with them. Just put in links every so often, so that people can find them when they want them.
• Make your posts directly, and not through an automated service. They are more likely to be included in a news feed that way.
• Make sure that you follow the Facebook best practice guidelines. This will help you to use the site for the maximum benefit to your business.
Facebook is a great way of communicating with your customers. You should use it wisely, but not rely upon it as your main online presence. Just remember that Facebook is not your business website, so do not treat it as such.
Sort of like the ‘Murphy’s’ Law, as it applies to Law Enforcement. My apologies if this has been posted before.
1. ‘Bullet Proof’ vests aren’t.
2. The bigger they are, the harder they fall. They also punch, kick and choke harder too.
3. The speed at which you respond to a fight call is inversely proportional to how long you’ve been a cop.
4. Tear gas works on cops too, and regardless of wind direction, will always blow back in your face.
5. High speed chases will always proceed from an area of light traffic to an area of extremely heavy traffic.
6. If you know someone who tortures animals and wets the bed, he is either a serial killer or he works for Internal Affairs.
7. Placing a gun back in a shoulder holster with your finger on the trigger will cause you to walk with a limp.
8. Flash hiders don’t really.
9. If you have ‘cleared’ all the rooms and met no resistance, you and your entry team have probably kicked in the door of the wrong house.
10. If a cop swings a baton in a fight, he will hit other cops more often than he will hit the bad guys he swings at.
11. Domestic arguments will always migrate from an area of few available weapons (living room), to an area with many available weapons (kitchen).
12. If you have just punched out a handcuffed prisoner for spitting at you, you are about to become a star on, ‘Eyewitness News’.
13. Bullets work on veteran cops too. They also work on weight lifters, martial arts experts, department marksmen, Vice cops, S.W.A.T. jocks, and others who consider themselves immortal.
14. When a civilian sees a blue light approaching at a high rate of speed, he will always pull into the lane the cop needs to use.
15. If you drive your patrol car to the geometric center of the Gobi Desert, within five minutes a dumb-a** civilian will pull along side you and ask for directions.
16. You can never drive slow enough to please the citizens who don’t need a cop, and you can never drive fast enough to please the ones who do.
17. Any suspect with a rifle is a better shot than any cop with a pistol.
18. From behind you, the bad guys can see your night sights as well as you can.
19. On any call, there will always be more ‘bad guys’ than there are good guys, and the farther away your back-up, the more there will be.
20. The longer you’ve been a cop, the shorter your flashlight and your temper gets.
21. Whatever you are about to do, if there is a good chance it will get you killed, you probably shouldn’t do it.
22. You should never do a shotgun search of a dark warehouse with a cop whose nickname is, “Boomer”.
23. The better you do your job, the more likely you are to be shot, injured, complained on, sued, investigated, or subpoenaed on your day off.
24. If a large group of drunk bikers is “holed-up” in a house, the Department will send one officer in a beat car. If there is one biker”holed-up” in a house, they will send the entire S.W.A.T. Team.
Politics is one of my favorite subjects, ok maybe its not my favorite but it is sure on my mind a lot. Last week I met a guy at a dog event who was shared that he was scared that if the Republicans got into office they would take away a woman’s right to control her own body. I think he more specifically is concerned about a woman’s right to choose what to do with her own body in reference to abortion. He was afraid if the republicans get into the office abortion will be illegal and woman will die from having illegal unsafe abortions. He seemed sincerely concerned that women would die from having lost the ability to have a legal abortions. I guess the thought that some of the aborted fetuses are female didn’t bother him.
While he was sharing his thoughts I was thinking, I’ve heard the same story from the other side, they (republicans or more specifically, conservatives) are scared that the liberal agenda will get stuffed down their throat. Not that I can see these two scenarios unbiasedly, but one thing seems to be shared between the two opposing camps, both are scared and want to be in control and not have anyone else impose their values on them. In this case killing fetuses seems to be a little more offensive than two men or two women NOT having the legal right to be married.
This is why your mother told you not to date police officers
After my shift on my Friday (that would be Tuesday to anyone else) I went on a date with a women I met recently. We met at a nice restaurant in town and things seemed to go really great. Since it was early we decided to go to the beach and take a walk on the boardwalk. As we walked to my car things seemed to be going so well. Trying to make a good impression I opened the car door for her but as she started to get in out of habit (and training) I pushed down on her head….

I wanted Mike to be president, and I support him. Here is what he thinks about this issue.
Just when you thought this whole thing couldn’t get more irrational, now we have “Boss” Rahm Emanuel, mayor of Chicago, hoping to prevent a legitimate business from locating in his city because one of the owners happens to believe in the Biblical view of marriage. Will Rahm seek to evict the Catholic and Evangelical churches because their priests and pastors not only believe it, but preach that from their pulpits? Has Rahm Emanuel been elected to an office high enough to give him the ability to censor the speech of people he disagrees with?
Here is the issue: Chick-fil-A is in the chicken business. No one has said they discriminate against customers or employees or serve an unsafe product. In fact, they are known for exceptional service to their guests, they are beloved by their employees, and obviously the food must be good to grow to 1600 stores. This is about a small but disproportionate minority of militants who are attempting to bully a family and a business and are spewing vile hate speech toward the company because one of its executives said something they dislike and disagree with.
We are asking all the participants on August 1 and those who post on the blogs to be respectful, kind, and civil no matter what. We are not against anyone or anything. We are for the freedom of Americans to speak their mind and practice their faith. There is no need to lower ourselves into childish name-calling and screaming. That is what people do when they can’t defend or explain their point of view.
If Chick fil-A forced its customers to sign an oath stating they are heterosexual before they could buy a chicken sandwich, the angry critics would not only have a point, but I would join them. I think it is great that Chick-fil-A is run by people with a Biblical world view and they operate it based on Biblical values, but there is a bigger issue. That’s not what this is about. The company sells chicken and doesn’t force a view on its customers or employees, but the owners shouldn’t be disenfranchised from their citizenship and rights of free speech, nor should they be kept from operating their business in cities across the country because a few “wanna be tyrants” disagree with their beliefs.
We’re simply asking people to eat chicken and not to be one when it’s time to take a stand-our appreciation is not only for the views of Dan Cathy, but for his right to have them and express them freely.
