I took my 1996 BMW R1100RT to California and back. Straight flat highways wasn’t this bike’s best point. It was more into back roads, curves and hills. Once I made it to Denver, it was great! I made it through Estes National Park, which wasn’t as easy as it sounds. There isn’t any flat parking places in the park. Every time I stopped, I was out of breath from the altitude and nervous about the bike going down when I put the kick stand down. Once through the park I was on my way down through Utah, and that was the most incredible scenery ever! I’m from the east coast and it’s all about the same. Green and rolling hills. South Florida is the only flat land on the east coast. Utah was, well, it’s hard to explain. I took a few pictures. (I regret not taking more.) Continuing, I went on through Utah and down to Las Vegas where I spent some time with a couple on another RT I met along the way. I also went to the Start Trek Experience!

Once back Westbound, I met some guys on Gold Wings and rode with them to Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) and we all stayed near San Luis Obispo. Then I went onto San Francisco, went inland down to Anaheim and stayed a few days. I went to some of the Calvary Chapels, including Chuck Smiths in Costa Mesa and the Crystal Cathedral, Venice Beach and a party in Santa Monica. Then I went to San Diego for a few days. I stayed in Pacific Beach and visited San Diego Calvary Chapel and the zoo. A few days later I headed back east. I stayed farther south this time and enjoyed a couple beautiful areas of the South East part of the country!!

I didn’t own this, I rented it from a friend who didn’t have time to ride it. So if I left my BMW in Florida and drove my car to New York I would ride the ZX11. It wasn’t a replacement for the RT, but it was a very decent ride. It wasn’t uncomfortable on long ride and it was smooth and very powerful. If it had more storage space and wasn’t black I might have bought it from him!

This 1996 BMW R1100RT  was without a doubt my favorite bike. It did everything well, it was fast, comfortable, handled and cornered well. Most of all it is without question the best looking bike ever. It took me many times from South Florida to Pennsylvania and New York and back. My ’94 Yamaha Seca 2 was my first new bike. I had the seat cut down and bought removable soft luggage for it. I rode around South Florida, to the keys and around Lake Okeechobee over to Tampa. It’s been to Naples at least once. These rides weren’t the highlight of owning this bike. It buzzed way to much for any long distance ride and it wasn’t fast but I enjoyed it.

I drove this from South Florida to Pennsylvania in about 19 hours. If it weren’t for the horrible seat I might have fallen asleep. I never understood how an expensive bike like this could have such a poor seat. I also thought the mirrors belonged on a bicycle. Other than that it ran great, was cool in the hot summers and lots of fun!

I thought my 87 Kawasaki Concours was great looking and I liked that I had the seat cut down but it was a bit tired and worn out. Part of the worn out aspect might have contributed to the fact it suffered less buzziness then my 1997 Concours I had a few years prior. It might have helped that I had the ’87 Concours while in the North East and I had the ’97 while in South Florida. After owning two Connies and two BMW’s I have some strong opinions about them. Probably the most important is that the Concours isn’t good in the heat, or flat smooth boring highway riding which is so prevalent in South Florida. It is much better up North in the cooler more mountain type of riding.

The final day of Judgment comes after the controversial time of the thousand years. On this day God will be seated on his throne and will Judge all. If your name is not found written in the Book of Life, you would be thrown in the lake of burning sulphur. Thus the non-believers and the souls of the ones who bowed down to the beast will be thrown in the lake of burning Sulphur. The only names that would be found written in the Book of Life are the names of the Raptured Church and the names of the souls that didn’t bow down to the beast. This will be rewarded and will live with the Lord in the New Jerusalem.

John describes that big day. Rev. 20:11 “Then I saw a great white throne and Him who was seated on it, Earth and sky fled from His presence. And I saw the dead great and small standing before the throne and books were opened. Another book was opened, which was the Book of Life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books. The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and Death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them and each person was judged according to what he had done. Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. If anyone’s name was not found written in the Book of Life he was thrown in the lake of fire.”

Accept Jesus today and avoid the second death in the fiery lake of fire. Be raptured along with the rest of the church and receive your rewards from God himself! Through his grace, we His bride will stand before our bridegroom Jesus and give him our dowry, the things we have done in His name. This works will never buy your way into heaven but we offer them in love, as gifts from a loving church to a waiting Savior. And for your efforts you may receive as many as 6 crowns:

* the crown for those who love His appearance ( 2 Timothy 4:8)

* the crown for enduring trials ( James 1:12)

* the crown for those willing to feed the flock ( 1 Peter 5:2-4)

* the crown for those who are faithful unto death ( Revelation 2:10)

* the crown for those who win souls ( 1 Thessalonians 2:19)

* the crown for those who master the old nature ( 1 Corinthians 9:24-25)
